Okyanus Çağrı Çamcı — Lenzart Space
Okyanus Çağrı Çamcı (b. 1996, İzmir) is a visual artist and researcher. Her artistic practice navigates the intersections of identity, memory, and survival. Drawing from personal archives, her work engages with familial narratives as well as broader queer histories. She has participated in various research-based and interdisciplinary programs, including the Istanbul Biennial Production and Research Programme (2021–2022), Nesin Village Art and Social Justice Program (2021), CultureCIVIC’s “Hafızayı Açmak” Capacity Building Program (2024), ALİKEV Young Artist Fund (2024), Narrative Revolution Fellowship (2025, 2026), Prince Claus Seed Award (2025), and Prince Claus Fund x Los Angles Collective Exchange Programme (2026) in Amsterdam. These experiences deepened her queer and memory-based approaches, enabling her to develop a practice that connects personal stories with broader questions of social justice. Her recent works focus on intergenerational memory, gendered experiences, and narratives of resistance within the women’s lineage of her family. Combining oral history, field research, and traditional production techniques, she reinterprets family heirlooms, everyday rituals, and spaces of silence as images of resilience. Through a queer lens, she explores the layered nature of personal and collective histories, aiming to expand narratives of belonging, inheritance, and resistance through visual storytelling.
