Hande Dilaver
2000 , Istanbul
Hande Dilaver (b. 2000, Istanbul) is an independent visual artist, designer, and educator. She graduated from the Department of Painting at the Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts. In addition to her formal university education, she has further developed her creative practice through hands-on training across various fields of art and design. She is currently pursuing studies in Brand Communication at Anadolu University.
Centering her artistic practice on nature, plants, and natural materials, Dilaver integrates diverse modes of expression—such as painting, textiles, fashion design, and ceramics—to explore botanical research, plant forms, and the processes of material transformation. She approaches nature not merely as a source of inspiration, but as a living, active component of her research and creative process. Her work investigates the relationships that emerge through transitions between layers, the state of "in-betweenness," and the interplay of contrasts.
In her research-driven practice, Dilaver incorporates her travels, field observations, and experiential engagements with various geographies as essential elements of her creative process. By tracing plants, natural environments, and local cultural layers, she translates her observations and experiences into her studio practice, examining the connections between nature, the body, the spirit, memory, and transformation through the lens of material and form.
Dilaver’s work has been featured in various exhibitions, artist-led projects, and art programs. Through "Künh Design"—a venture she founded—she focuses on nature-based design, wearable art, and sustainable production, while also extending her research and creative practice into diverse experiential spaces via art and design workshops. She lives and works in Istanbul.
